Wilton Color Spray And Fondant Question
Decorating By funtodecorate2 Updated 4 Aug 2012 , 5:49pm by Pearl645
HI,
I need to spray a cake lightly with wilton spray because I was too tired last night and forgot to tint my frosting blue I need to put fondant decorations on it after I spray it. Will the decorations stay?
They are pieces of fondant to look like rolling hills. Deer, birds. All used with my cricit so not really 3D. Should I spray and let dry a little before placing decor or as soon as I am done spraying.?
Or will it not support the decor all together. I'm sure someone has already asked these questions but I've run out of time and didn't have time to research this topic. Thanks for any help.
Wendy
I'd let it dry first. Otherwise, you might end up with color on your accents.
It sounds like you're cake is bc with fondant accents. If that's the case, just put a little bc on the back of your decor to make it stick.
yes it is BC with fondant acc. My cake is in the frig right now. I'm gone until 9 tonight. So I should take out after I get home let it set for a bit ? Then spray? and let it sit. Then add decorations? I have choc ganache for filling.
thanks for help
Wilton color spray takes 24 hours to dry on all of my cakes but I have only used it on fondant. Hope yours dries faster than mine usually do.
