Fbct - Applying Transfer To Cake 2 Days Ahead??
Decorating By algal100 Updated 1 Aug 2012 , 3:45pm by algal100
My friend asked me to make her a Disney princess cake for her daughter's birthday (a pic of Snow White, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty) and I thought that this would be a great project to try FBCT. I'm not too intimidated by the process (read a lot about it on CC thanks to everyone's questions and responses!)....the problem is that I have to give her the cake 2 days before she'll be serving the cake and giving her the transfer for her to do herself isn't really an option.
So my plan was to go for it! Add some merignue powder to my BC (I use all butter, no shortening), put it in the freezer, transfer the picture to the cake, and put it in the fridge to slowly unfreeze it.
My question to you is...How crazy is this plan?? Anyone have any other suggestions / advice??
Your plan will work fine. I have done it the same way without any trouble. Just put in the fridge after you apply it and your happy with it.
Good Luck, It Will Be Great!
I've put a FBCT on a cake about 30 hours before it was served, kept it in the fridge, and it looked the same as when first put it on. I know that's not two days, but it was quite a while and there were no issues at all. Just my 2 cents

Thank you so much for the encouragement!! I'm going to channel it when I'm frustrated and want to throw the whole thing in the garbage lol!! Would love any tips on the transfer itself if you have any. The more I have in my FBCT arsenal, the better HAHA!!
