Chocolate river?

Thread Starter
Hi all.
I apologies in advance if this has already been asked. I have been asked to make a Charlie and the chocolate factory cake for my nieces 18th birthday party. And she wants one with a chocolate river running down the front.
Could anybody advise me how I would do this?

It would need to be similar to this -

Thank you.

Hi
You need to go to Cake Boss for that. He covered pvc pipes with fudge and had a choc fountain pouring the choc out of the cake.

From what I see, the chocolate river has solidified, and is no longer "running". To do this you need warm but not hot melted chocolate or Merkins chocolate nibs. Then on a fondant covered cake that is room temp (not cold from the fridge) you need to pour the chocolate down the front of the cake - making sure that you catch any runoff in a dish. Neaten up the end of the river and pop it into the refrigerator to harden. It's quite simple, all the best.

I agree w/Denise.......it's just poured over the fondant covered cake.
