Hi all,

http://cakecentral.com/gallery/955843/practice-cake

Please can you advice me on what to use for the floral impression on the corset layer. Also what cutter was used on the bottom layer for the "lace"---the part on top?

Glad for any advice, I have emailed the decorator but havent heard back yet.

Cheers.

I have no idea to offer to really help you.....but that design reminds me of the imprint on some toilet paper!
Don't get me wrong, it's pretty but that's what I thought oficon_smile.gif

You might just have to spend some time at places like Michael's, JoAnn Fabric, or Hobby Lobby to find some kind of plastic press sheet for a similar looking pattern.

I used that same cake as my inspiration for my daughters wedding cake - 4? years ago

The trouble with using an impression mat on the fondant with THIS particular shape is that you risk distorting it and also damaging it as you are trying to adhere the fondant to the waisted shape. You can use a piece of foam to gently press the fondant on - but there isn't much you can do with the distortion.

I opted for piping scrolly stuff and adding a few diamontes here and there - this layer of the cake I did as 2 dummies carved and glued together

Cutter used on the bottom is a fluted teardrop cutter set.
They come about 6 different sizes in a set
