Hello All,
I've always wanted to get into the baking, decorating world but just havent had the opportunity to do so (in a commercial stand point). Ive been working full time as an admin asst/customer service for 8 years (since I was 1. I cant just quit my job and following my dreams (I have 2 kids to support). What are good ways to get my foot in the door? Ive thought about trying to get an internship at local bakeries once I get my portfolio together and maybe do it on the weekends? I already make cakes for friends and family (non-profit of course) just for the experience, but I want more. Anymore suggestions on how to go about it? Bakery owners, how did you get started/gain experience?
My long term goal is to make it my career and own my own bakery/cake shop.
