How can I stop my airbrush from spitting?

Hi All
This is my first post but i have spent a long time reading other posts. so much knowledge on here!
I am having trouble with my airbrush spitting when I am spraying large areas. I don't have this problem in smaller areas. I try to wipe the tip down in between filling the cup but it still does it. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
I have a Kroma -Jet airbrush and I use Americolour airbrush colours.

Mine spits when paint builds up in the little area where the needle is at the front. I found even after I clean it a little liquid kind of pools there. I have to shake it out before working again. I'm not an airbrush expert but I hope that helps a little.

Submerge the whole brush in hot water and press the trigger. If that doesn't fix it, completely take apart the brush, pull out the needle and completely clean it.

It could be your colors too, make sure you shake the heck out of them before using them.

Thank you for that, I will give your suggestions a go. I thought it may have been blocked last time i used it as it took a little bit to get going.

also check the needle tip to see if it has a burr. which can cause the colour to splatter, if it does pull it through some light weight sandpaper.

but is yours still spitting in the middle of spraying? if so its eiither a bent needle where colour is building up or you have moisture gathering in your airhose.

Sweetcakes, it is during the middle of spraying. It happens when i am keeping a constant pressure on the airbrush. If it is a bent needle or moisture in the airhose, how do I fix that? How would i know which one it is?
You said in your last post about a burr on the needle, what is a burr? The needle is so fine, it is hard to see any imperfections.

you would have to take the needle out and pull it through your fingers, you will feel a burr or bent needle at the end. if it just pulls through your finger tips and you dont feel a thing then it is not bent. For air in the hose you can get a moisture trap on your compressor, it collects moisture, water droplets that the air compressor makes if it is humid. otherwise these water droplets work themselves down the tube and eventually out the airbrush in a splatter.
