I love my mom, almost as much as she loves dark rich chocolate. I want to really nail an awesome cake for her birthday. I want it to be the best she's ever had (eventhough I know she'd say it was either way) ! I come to you all because you understand the cake bug, you are my hobby/artist/professional family! Give me the best recipe for this you've got, and if it's so good it's a highly coveted secret, just message me instead... Please icon_wink.gif!

The amazing chocolate wasc cake recipe was the best chocolate cake I've had, it's on this site from cakepro, I usually use the Betty Crocker dark chocolate cake mix and use t 3/4 cup of oil and a little coffee but I couldent find it in the area I moved to so I tried this and I really liked it a lot, hope this helps icon_smile.gif

Do you want something from scratch or from a mix? My go-to for scratch is either the Hershey's Black Magic Cake (for a lighter texture) or the Epicurious Double Chocolate Layer Cake (for something more dense).

I found one on the Food Network website called Chocolate Fudge Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting and Chocolate Ganache Glaze. I only tried the cake recipe and really liked how moist and chocolatey it came out. I substituted coffee for the water.

I would try one of the mud cake recipes from here. They are utterly delicious, moist and fudgy!! Plus they just seem to get better and better days after they are baked.

Hershey's Black Magic Chocolate Cake for a scratch recipe or the Cake Doctor's Darn Good Chocolate Cake. The problem there is finding a 18 oz. chocolate cake mix; I haven't tried it with the "new" cake mixes.
The recipes are listed below.
