This is probably a looooong shot. But I'm looking to get a spot to open my own licensed kitchen. I'm not looking for a cafe or walk-in bakery - just want someplace where I can do my cakes and be in line with the Board of Health. Right now, the BOH has been super helpful in setting me up as a home based vendor but I want to start doing wedding cakes. I'm getting requests and I can't do them because I need a license to transport/deliver cakes. That is not an option for home based vendors. However, lease space is pricey for a starting business and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in central Indiana that would be interested in setting up a licensed kitchen as well. If 3 or 4 people went in on it, it would be cost effective, you'd be legal once you got licensed, and we'd be able to expand our business. If anyone is interested, I'm all ears. I just thought this was a way for us home based vendors to branch out and still be within the Board of Health guidelines. BTW, I've already run this idea past the Board of Health and they see nothing wrong with it as long as all bakers are licensed for that kitchen and the kitchen itself is licensed. I'm in Noblesville and our downtown has tons of retail space that sitting empty. icon_biggrin.gif
