Are you making it out of cake? I'd be scared too! I made one that traveled well but I made it out of pvc pipe and covered it in gumpaste. I did not place it on the cake until it was set up at the venue. Good luck!

Since I have never made anything like that my suggestion would be to e-mail/pm anyone who have posted a pic like what you want to make. Ask how they supported it for transport. Most will be nice enought to reply but don't expect all of them to icon_smile.gif

I would transport it in seperate pieces and assemble when you get there. I have made cakes with towers and tried to transport them assembled and IT DID NOT GO WELL. True cakewreck moment. Are you making the tower out of cake or using something like pvc pipe?

I have the same problem as I also have to make this cake for Sunday (For one year my goddaughter, of 4 years old now, has ask me for that cake I'm quite a newbie and do this has a hobby and this is quite a challenge!). I'm really scared about how to transport it (also have a 40 minutes drive...). I've done a structure out oh wood, (two plates of different diameters and a dowel connecting them so I won't be able to set it up at the birthday party.
