Hi guys! I made a topper out of fondant for a friend, and she really loved it. I told her that if she's gentle with it and doesn't let it get wet, it will stay for a long time. But, she's getting ready to move from Germany to the US, and she wants something more durable. Do any of you know if she could spray it with an acrylic spray, or anything like that? Would that help make it stronger for a move, do you think?

I'd pack the little feller in marine wool (like they use in aquqrium filters) making sure to get it well between the smaller parts and the body of the sculpture. Then I'd wrap it in bubble wrap, then set it in a box lined with pillow foam. You could cover it with an acrylic spray, but it might make thw colors run, and it would do very little to reinforce the structure of the piece. HTH

How is she getting to the U.S.? Her stuff is probably going by ship, right? She will have no control over the temp or if the box ends up completely sealed.

I assume she's flying over, though. Pack it as stated above and then put it in her carry-on. That's probably the only way to control what happens to it.
