Hi,

I've never sold packaging or any additional stuff with cupcakes to customers before. Can someone help me with a price per unit for this? Here are the details:

-Cupcake wedding favors for 130 people
-Charging $1.25/ea for cupcakes alone
-Customer asked about crystal clear individual cupcake boxes

-Boxes are $58.00 + $33.00shipping + tax = about $100 total for 100 pieces.
-I'd have to order 200 pieces and be 70 items over if I do it online.
-The retails store is FAR from me (gas $15 and time 2 hours) and they cost $20 for 10 pieces

Hi have you checked out ebay for individual boxes most come in at less than a dollar each with free p&p

Maybe tell the customer you can't provide the packaging but direct her to the site or source which does and let them deal with that aspect.

I have a wedding coming up with 140 individually wrapped cupcakes (clear boxes) with ribbon. I charge $2.25/cupcake, the boxes cost $20 for 10 ($2 each) so I quoted her $4.25 per cupcake and she was fine with that. Maybe just quote them and leave it up to them whether they want to package them themselves or not.

their boxes are paper, but they have the cutest cupcake boxes with windows that i love. i especially like the brown eco boxes. they are <$31 for 100 boxes with no additional shipping.

maybe your bride could consider this option if the other becomes too difficult.
