I have a wedding coming up next month and the bride asked if she could have one tier of the cake blueberry and some of the cupcakes also. I have never made a blueberry layer cake before. I am concerned that it would be heavy like blueberry muffins. Does anyone have a layer cake recipe that would work well with this? I would like it to be one that uses a cake mix or an extender recipe (WASC)

There's a recipe in the Recipes section called Summers Scratch Strawberry cake that is a wonderful cake. I wonder if you could sub blueberries for the strawberries? It uses a strawberry puree, so you would probably need to puree the blueberries for it. It also uses frozen blueberries, not fresh so not sure how they would work. The cake would be purple. icon_smile.gif

......would like it to be one that uses a cake mix or an extender recipe (WASC).....

My suggestion is to use my *original* WASC recipe adding a 6 oz container of blueberries to the mix at the end. You don't want to mix them in too soon and crush them.
The other option is to have the customer provide yu w/a recipe and compare it to the WASC. You *DON'T* want to try a new recipe for a wedding cake - especially w/o testing it 1st that's for sure!!
I just googled blueberry cake recipes and found many suggestions. They very from using 1 to 2 1/2 cups fresh berries to using a can of blueberry pie filling in the batter. I go back to my original suggestion.......add a cup or two of berries to the WASC recipe icon_smile.gif
