Molding a hat with RKTs

I have never sculpted or molded with RKTs before. I had an idea to mold a hat in a mixing bowl, just to get the basic shape, and then trim down or add to it from there (it's an odd-shaped hat). Has anyone ever done this before? What's the best recipe? I have seen where some people use pre-made ones, some people use the original recipe with less marshmallows and less butter, and some people use the original recipe on the box. I should mention that humidity where I live is about 3,000%.

I always put about a third of the total krispies in the food processor to make a smoother finish.
I made a hat out of cake by baking in a pyrex bowl but have never tried RKT. It would probably work great. Just line the bowl with greased plastic wrap. I use a lot of butter on my hands when I work with RKT.
I'm guessing this isn't for a baseball cap but wanted to pipe in that if you cover the hat in plastic wrap, you can make the bill by layering gumpaste directly on the real bill.

I live in TN where humidity is outrageous! I make the original recipe and leave out the butter, works every time. Just use shortening in whatever you are using to mould hat!

I like using the store bought ones they are firm and not sticky. Last week I helped my mother in law with baby butt cakes. She made the RKT the regular recipe. They were sticky and soft. I put them in the fridge for a while and it took a bit more work but they worked fine too.
