I used to live in the UK. I used to make vanilla cake using the recipe in BBC GoodFood website. This one is so lovely and family favourite. When I made vanilla cupcakes, I always used Marks n Spencers recipe. But they both use real butter.

Now I live in Indonesia, where butter is too expensive to use for businesses. The cheaper version of butter taste more like butter flavour than the real butter. If I used margarine it didnt taste the same. I am so frustrated to find a really good recipe for vanilla cake/ cupcakes without using butter, sourcream, or buttermilk.

Please anyone who knows a very good recipe without using the above ingredients, please share and help me.
