fresh fruits on buttercream frosting

I am making a simple wedding cake with buttercream frosting and fresh fruits (kiwi) on top. Would you have any advise on how to put them? I am just anxious the fruit might appear "mushy" since fresh fruits like kiwi or strawberry, are usually wet.
thanks

I recently made strawberry buttercream frosting, I chopped the strawberries into very fine pieces and poured them into the buttercream last (including the juice). It turned out really nice, a beautiful strawberry colour frosting with specks of strawberries.

You may want to glaze the fruit, just dont use an exessive amount of glaze. It should keep the fruit looking beautiful and not "dried out" intil the cake is served. Here is a link for a glaze that has good reviews and you can see by the picture that they used it on top of a buttercream cake.
