Now let me first start off by saying I have little experience with cake pops, I like to stick to large templates. But I was speaking to a vendor who said that the last person she had make her cake pops used fondant. I am wondering if this was used in place of the chocolate or only as accents but I am still very confused. Can you cover a cake pop with fondant instead of chocolate?

It would probably be a paid to cover with rolled fondant. Maybe they used poured fondant?

Unless it was poured fondant, the lady is mistaken. It's difficult enough to cover a 6" sphere, never mind a 1 1/2" ball.
