There was another thread going on about "non-potentially hazardous foods" that got me wondering. Do any of you who operate under your state's Cottage Food Law offer items other than desserts? I've recently gotten into bread making. Do you have customers that want bread or herbs or salsa, etc from you as well? I'm curious about how big of a market it is for food items other than cakes and such from a home baker. Is there some whole other "bread-central" community that's advocating for more states to have cottage food laws too?? Or is cake the most popular thing.
oooo neat! thanks, kelley! were there a lot of bread bakers supporting you and the movement for the texas cottage food law?
A few, but nothing significant in Texas that I'm aware of.
I believe there is a fairly large contingent of artisanal bread makers in California rallying behind their current bill.
