Hi All

I have a cake order of a texel sheep to make for tonight - something similar to this but on a smaller scale

I have made the structure using dowels screwed to cake board for the 4 legs and a cake board on top to support the cake body
I have all this made and assembled the cake last night, and attached the rice krispie treat sheep head using skewers and melted chocolate
Only to get up this morning & find the head on the ground

This cake is to be finished this evening for collection tomorrow - have you any ideas how I could attach the head to the cake
I have the cake assembled and covered in fondant so would love to avoid having to take it all apart again

Any help would be much much appreciated

I don't know if your cake is attached to the finished decorative board yet

If not, you need to add a dowel with an arm. This can be screwed at the bottom into your cake board and should add a lot of stability, I would add 2 of them (one in front of each front leg). Aligning the dowel to be able to catch a screw in the bottom will be the challenge, but it is doable..

The cake is already on the board and covered in fondant, but I think your super suggestion is the only way of ensuring a good support structure, I just wish I had have asked before starting the cake - doh

I don't think you have to remove and undo. The dowel gets shoved down through the top. Measure exactly and you should be able to catch the dowel under the cake board to set a screw. Remember you can use a wide dowel so your margin of error gets reduced.
