Did anyone else see the story on GMA this morning about wedding cake? Basically said how to save money people should just get their wedding cake from grocery store because there's really no difference.... another one of those, "oh well, it's JUST cake" kind of things. That so irritates me. But as I was getting royally ticked off at GMA they cut to the hosts outside serving grocery store wedding cake to the crowd and talking about how good it was and Sam Champion said, "I've got to tell you, as a person who eats a lot of cake, there IS a difference." He said, if cost is a big deal then maybe the grocery store may be the way to go but (and he said it again) "there IS a difference." And as I was saying, "That's right Sam!" The lady host (whose segment it was) said, "yeah, what bride and groom even eat the cake at their reception, they're too busy dancing and..." What about the guests?? I'm sorry, this has really just set me off this morning. I understand people on budgets and I certainly don't think any less of someone who can't afford my cake - but I'm just so sick and tired of people (now national media show) saying the old, "it's just cake" bit.... it doesn't matter... why don't you just take all of us who work so hard and are so proud of our creations and kick us in the shins..... ugh.
