Hi Everyone,

So I'm going to be making a 4 tier wedding cake (First one!)
14" square, 14" round, 9" round, 6" square

and I want to estimate how much frosting I will need to crumbcoat (since the filling is completely different)
I will be using Swiss Meringue Buttercream

Does anyone know of any charts/guidlines with frosting amounts for crumboating?

Wilton has some charts that have cake shape, size, approx # of servings, how many cups of batter, suggested baking temp and time, and approx # of cups of icing to ice and do top and bottom borders. I know you asked for crumbcoating, but it might help give you an idea of how much icing to use. You can find the chart in any Wilton year book. You also might be able to google it or find it on their website? I'd imagine you would use a little less icing than the recommended amount from that chart. Hope that helps!
