Ideas For A Bizarre Christmas Cake?
Decorating By RickMeasham Updated 18 Jun 2012 , 11:36pm by BakingIrene
I've been challenged to come up with a bizarre Christmas cake for a Christmas-in-July (in Australia December is summer, so some people do this whole mid-year thing so they get to have a "white Christmas")
Can you think of anything bizarre to make for this customer? (can be 3D or tiered)
Hi there,
Bizarre ideas are abit hard. The only things we can come up with is Santa in the back of a rusty Holden ute or santa at the beach (maybe as a lifesaver?)
My darling husband keeps coming up with extremely bizarre ideas but I think most are just ridiculous! Such as Santa doing his tax return etc.
Will think on it and let you know what I come up with. Interested to see what you end up making.
I just googled "bizarre Christmas cards" and lots of things popped up. Maybe you can get inspiration from one of them.
Since you are "down under" how about an upside down stacked cake?

Santa doing his tax return
Oh, but that's perfect! It's fun rather than macabre, and it pokes gentle fun at the family doing this. They'll love it!

Ahh, "cards" is a nifty idea. I tried "cake" but got nothing interesting. Thanks for the tip!

Wait til I tell my husband! He will be over the moon! He is always coming up with weird cake ideas that sometimes my limited talent just can't produce the goods.
Please let me know what you end up doing and we want to see a photo!
Have fun!
The best 'funny santa" images are found on needlepoint websites that sell handpainted canvases for holiday stockings. Google "handpainted canvas santa stocking"
They have santa playing golf in plus-fours, santa on the beach in red trunks, santa in the garden...
