how do you attach fresh flowers in buttercream cake. I used the Wilton cake spikes. They stuck out of the cake. What do you use? I have another cake with fresh flowers in two weeks. I hope to do better this time. Thanks

I agree, those cake spikes are cumbersome. Cut all the stems as short as possible and wrap them (entire length) with foil. Make sure the stems are wet before wrapping.

I use the cake pics when i need to place wires on a cake for decoration...
I cut them down so as they aren't so long...
