I am flying to NC next week and want to take a bach of my dream whip icing since they don't have a Kitchen Aid mixer -- Will there be any problems with the airline? Should I put it in my carry on or can I put it in my luggage that is being checked?

There's always problems with airplane travel. It depends upon who's manning the luggage line and the gate. You may have fewer problems if you just bring the mixer. Or bring a spoon just in case.

You can't take it as carry on, but you can pack it in your checked luggage. Be prepared to get a love note from the TSA. I put my own note in first, explaining what it and what it's for.
