Has anyone tried Earlene's (www.earlenescakes.com) cream cheese buttercream icing? I purchased her Butavan but haven't tried it yet. She says that the icing crusts enough to use impressions mats on it.

I plan to try her recipe soon but wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it first.

Thanks

sorry - i haven't tried that one but i do have a question about cream cheese buttercream. i made some this weekend simply by adding cream cheese to my buttercream (last minute decision to use cream cheese buttercream). I still have quite a bit left over and was wondering what everyone thought about freezing it. do you think it would keep ok?

thank you
Debbie

I don't see any problems with freezing it since buttercream freezes well and so do cheesecakes, which of course have cream cheese in them!

thank you! i am hoping. i made a double batch of buttercream and only planned on using 1/2 of it but without thinking about piping and an edible image i added a whole block of cream cheese to the 1/2 i was going to use and it was too soft and moist for me to comfortably add an edible image and i was afraid the borders wouldn't hold up. I ended up adding the other 1/2 of the buttercream to get a better consistency. The cake was a hit!

I was going to a meeting of a local non profit group for the planning of the yearly fund raising banquet. Since they were serving lunch i thought i would bring a dessert. I made a 2 layer vanilla cake filled with strawberry (my son's choice) with creamcheese buttercream and an edible image of one of their logos on it. It was such a hit they asked me to duplicate it for the banquet to auction off! I did have one request to make the cake a hot milk cake though - has anyone ever made one of these?

I will post the picture as soon as i download it from my camera
