Hi,
I have a 9x13 double layer that will be sitting on tops of a double layer 11x15. For some reason the middle of the 9x13 has sunk a little and now it isn't even and flat on top. I have decorations going on top that are round.
what can I do to build up the center. I don't have any cake scraps and I'm limited on time.
If I did find time I could put a slice on top but what would other options be
thanks
Are you using supports under your 9x13?
If the sunken part isnt to deep, can you fill with extra frosting, just enough to level it?
How about slicing the top of the 9x13 to level it with the sunken part if it's not too deep?
If it is just a little and won't affect serving numbers, you could frost it heavily and use a cardboard round on top to place the decor for stability. If it affects servings, I don't know how you can get around re-baking. That happens sometimes when it is just underdone.
A second option is to cut the section out and push the halves of cake together. Again, only if servings are not an issue.
sorry i havent responded. have been on the road for hrs. yes there will b hollow dowels in the 11x15 . im not sure i can shave off enough outer edge to fill in he middle. looks like i will bake another small cake and fill in the middle and glue it down with frosting. thanks for help.
