I have a two tier round cake with stripes on bottom tier due this Saturday. My problem is that instead of buying fondant I decided to make my own. I followed to the letter the recipe here at CC for Buttercream Flavored Marshmallow Fondant. I made to separate batches. The problem is that both are to soft and have zero elasticity. It rolls out but went I try to pick it up it just comes apart in pieces. Can't lay it on the cake because it falls a part cracks everywhere.[What Can I do???????

Try putting some crisco on your hands(not too heavy with it) smear some on your counter top and knead this into the mmf. Do it several times and it should get more pliable. I see some on this site say to , add just a drop or 2 of glycerine to it also and knead it. I have done this to regular fondant that i make. hth I also would roll the mmf on a mat with crisco smeared on that(not too heavy)and use this mat to drop over cake. I believe this will help you. to put on cake.
