Okay I am making the lord of the rings ring and I wanted to know if you you can bake a cake inside a cake. What I mean is can I cover the bottom of a smaller cake pan with wax paper, and put it in a bigger cake pan and then pour the batter around the smaller cake pan to make a ring.

I have never tried that, but I would think you'd need to weigh down the pan so it stays in place. I hope it works out well for you!

Providing you weigh it down well,as PrivateNameHere suggests, I should think it would work.
I gather you do not have a ring pan?
They are a very handy investment and can be used for many different cake shapes and ideas.
I have a very old and battered ring pan, full of bumps and lumps but it still delivers an excellent circle shape to work with.
Good luck. icon_smile.gif
