Hi Everyone,

I'm making a cake this weekend and I bought marzipan for one part of the cake, I also bought edible gold paint, my question is,
can marzipan be painted just like fondant? Will the marzipan "take" the paint?

Thanks icon_smile.gif

Yes you can paint it!
All of the "Paul" battenburg cake decorations in my photos are marzipan, the coloured parts being painted. The thing I find about marzipan though it that it's not as smooth as fondant so doesn't generally produce as smooth a paint result.
