"Not too sweet" Chocolate CRUSTING Buttercream??

I'm making a chocolate graduation cake in a couple of weeks and I plan to use a crusting chocolate buttercream. HOWEVER, the graduate is not a fan of vanilla crusting buttercream because he thinks it is "too sweet" (gasp!). Unfortunately, crusting buttercream is characteristically sweet because of all the necessary sugar.... any ideas or recipe suggestions for a crusting chocolate buttercream that isn't super sweet? Thanks in advance for any ideas! icon_biggrin.gif
