If you want to take 24 frosted cupcakes to a friend's party what do you usually place them in?
There are cheap 12 cupcake boxes on ebay that would suit you, they'll breathe too so your frosting won't melt!

Gets great reviews and you can store all your cupcake 'bits' when not transporting.

I found this at Wal*Mart...it is collapsible...can be used for up to 24 cupcakes or to transport a cake as well.
I love the clear plastic clamshell containers. I but at cake supply store but really cheap on ebay if you want to buy in volume.
Snapware makes containers that snap together that have an insert in the middle where one side has spaces to hold 12 cupcakes and the other side is flat. I use these all the time as you can snap a bunch of them together and carry them all with one hand.
I just bought some fantastic, and cheap cardboard cupcake boxes from ebay that fold flatpack too.

I also use the clear clamshell containers. I normally buy them from the cake supply store by my mother's house but I plan to order them in bulk from cup tainers . com in the future.
Just be aware that the plastic carriers and clamshell containers seal airtight, so your fondant decorations WILL wilt after just a couple of hours.
One of these (or 2 twelves) in a box that it will fit in:
I can leave it behind or take it home.
