So I've been dormant in my caking for a number of months now (hadn't decorated anything since October!!), and I was super afraid I wouldn't be able to get the effects I wanted on this most recent cake, having been away from it for the better part of a year! Work has been crazy, and I just landed the job of my dreams and will be moving my family cross-country for it ... but the caking has suffered .

Anyhow! Long story short, my boys had a combined birthday party this year, and we did a pirates theme. I had a BLAST with this cake. I had discovered with my previous reptile cake that if I made elements of RKTs, when all the kiddos clamored for a slice, I could just hand out pieces of RKT and hold them over until I could actually cut the cake ... it worked equally well this time.

So! Happy to be back (though it will probably be a couple of months again before I can another, since moving day is in four weeks!!), and just wanted to say hi again ... thanks for humoring me . Here's the cake, if anybody wants to take a peek!
