What's The Last Cake Decorating Supply You Bought?

Today I went to AC Moore (which had a better selection than the Michael's I went to yesterday) and bought a Wilton 25 piece cake decorating kit. Normally it cost $12.99 but I had a 50% off coupon so with tax it was just under $7. I figure the 5 tips and flower nail make up for the cost, plus I got 2 couplers, 4 icing colors, 12 bags and a cake decorating guide.
I bought the new Wilton fondant ribbon cutter. I will be using it this week-hopefully it doesn't suck.

What does the new one look like? I know they have had one out for a while. It has white pieces that you can change around. It is the one below.

I brought a few of the new wilton fondant/gumpaste molds all with 50% off coupons. I brought the one with jewels, sea life, and the alphabets/numbers.
Don't know if it counts as supply but I bought three more Sharon Zambito DVDs! Gotta love that woman!
I just bought some JEM cutters. I can't wait to use them One was for a cute little umbrella perfect for summer
Not to brag, but I had a little windfall, so I just bought a whole bunch of stuff from GSA, a couple of DVDs and some supplies from Sharon Zambito and about $160 worth of stencils from Designer Stencils. I'm on the road and won't be home to use them for another couple of weeks, but my fingers are itching and I hardly know where to begin! Whee!
Clearance cupcake liners. Before that, I bought the SPS system, 4 Magic Line pans, and a couple of the new Wilton molds.
Actually, I've been buying a lot of stuff lately- with coupons, of course. I bought Martha Stewart molds in the clay section. Upon closer inspection at home, they are made by Wilton. Interesting. They smell, so I doubt they are food safe. I also bought a reusable water bottle that is made by Wilton. I had no idea they made other stuff!
Wilton black colour
Silver Grey Food Pen by Rainbow Dust
4 top quality cake boards ( thick ones, foil covered) sold off at bargain price because they are phasing them out for the cheaper, thinner and less stable variety.
Bought a 2D wilton nozzle from Ebay for £5......you guys have got it good over the pond!!

I bought a pair of little tweezers that have little circles indented on the tips to hold the sugar pearls and to make it easier to put them on a cake. I hope they work well!
I hope they work for you, too, cowie. I've never been able to find an easy way to put those miserable dragees on cakes. I really love to use them, but they're such a pain! I have a little thingummy that looks sort of like a plunger cutter, but with three little wires on the end that open like a tripod. I just can't get the hang of it (advice welcomed!).
A new four inch shackling knife...Home Depot.
I sanitized it!
Use it to give me a super smooth finish on the side of the cake with one full turn on my turntable. Awesome!!

I bought a whole pearl mold, cupcake/muffin containers, cake boards, and cake plates from Global Sugar Art.
I just ordered 20 lbs of ivory fondant for a wedding cake this Friday. Usually make mmf but didn't think I wanted to spend the time making 20 lbs (may not need quite that much but close I bet). It also had to be ivory and I wanted to make sure I got a good ivory color without having to mix my own.
I'd love to buy some new letter cutters next. That seems to be the one thing I really miss when doing birthday and celebration cakes. I need a better variety of upper and lower case.
Last week I spent over $200.00 on supplies for June cakes. Everything from boards, boxes, frosting sheets, luster dust, pearls, etc.
My wish list does include new cutters, veiners and other stuff. But need to find the time, to use them.
I bought "The Mat" from Sweetwise and a level. I need so many things though. Was wondering, do you find it easier to make your own cake drums to order them thru the mail? Can't find anyone selling multiple sized drums locally but then again we don't have any cake shops for that stuff.
If the cake im making is not too heavy typically anything over three tiers i use foamcore boards from global otherwise i use wood cut too size from home depot.
I bought a bunch of PME tips, some that I ordered in that finally came. I bought some LorAnn flavorings, a box of pastry bags and some Choco-pan for a small tier cake that is coming up. Nothing too exciting.

Can I ask what kind of knife that is??
I haven't heard of it, but if it helps in smoothing cakes, I'm interested.

I'm guessing it's a spackling knife, which is like a putty knife.
They really are convenient for smoothing cakes and using with stencils, they come in a variety of sizes.

I bought The Mat a week ago and paid to have it shipped over night so I could use it for a cake that was due today. Of course it was on my front door when I arrived home from delivering that cake I made. I was really looking forward to having it since the was the biggest cake I've done so far.

If you paid extra to have it shipped overnight and they didn't do it you should ask for a refund for the extra shipping cost. It was a holiday weekend, so maybe that was why, bu they should have told you ahead of time.
I just bought the Wilton Doll Cake Kit. It's for a little girl's cake I'll be making next month. I can't wait to try it!
SweetMelissa...yep, that's my knife. Love that thing!
One spin and she's smooooth.
