Cupcakes baked inside a ice cream cone...few questions

I would like to offer these to my customer but have a few questions...



What would/do you charge for these?

How do I transport them?Cupcake inserts?

How full do I fill the cones?Do I bake at same temp as cupcakes?

any other tips or ideas...dos/ don't's

When I did these, I went a different route than many people. Instead of pouring in batter and baking, I simply used cake scraps to fill the cones, layered with small amounts of icing. I guess I just didn't like the idea of eating a whole bunch of cake without some frosting thrown in!

I'll be very curious to see what responses you get for pricing and transporting!

Very Interesting concept with stuffing already baked cake..I like that idea also...

I haven't made these before but I also wouldn't like eating the whole cone full of cake with no frosting. What if you baked the batter in the cones but then filled the middle of it with frosting? Might be easier than doing the layers of cake and frosting (I wouldn't really know though because I haven't made cupcakes with filling yet). Now you guys have me wanting to make these lol icon_smile.gif

I have seen people use a 9x13 foil pan, upside down and cut holes to hold the cones. never tried it but they seem kinda top heavy for that, idk. I have baked the batter in the cones before but the texture of the cone is changed so I really like the idea of baking and then stuffing the cones!!

My DIL made these this way: She baked mini cupcakes and regular size cupcakes. Stuff a mini into the bottom of the cone. Fits just right. Put some frosting, then top with the regular cupcake, then frost the top. The rounded cupcake on top of the cone, frosted with a swirl looked just like ice cream! Cute and easy!

This is how I do it as well, it works great! I've never understood the idea of baking the cake right in the cone - the icing to cake ratio is just so wrong!! A previous poster mentioned baking in the cone, then filling the inside with icing, and I thin that is a good idea, if you really want to bake the batter right inside the cone. icon_smile.gif

Great ideas Ladies about stuffing the cones with minis and a regular cupcake ontop..So what would you sell them for and how and the heck would you transport/box them for pickup??

No one has any idea what they would or have sold these for?? I tried to search the web but no results....I was thinking $4.00 each as my regular cupcakes are $3.50 and say 50 cents for the cone...

How do I send them out for a customer?..I have cake boxes with cupcake inserts but that seems like they would fall over....Hmmmm
