gumpaste flowers/refrigerated cake

I made a 3 tier wedding cake that is in the fridge due to perishable fillings and frosting. I have to place about 15 gumpaste roses on this thing. I'd rather do it before I deliver it because I'm afraid of breaking the roses trying to transport them in a container separate from the cake.

It is HOT right now, although I'll be transporting in a minivan with the AC on.

Do you think the roses will be ok if I place them on the cake and close the cake up in its box during delivery? I don't want any condensation from the cake to ruin the roses.

If the roses are super dry you'll be ok. If you're worried about breakage from revirbiration from the ride, probably best to wait till you get to the venue.

The roses have been finished for over a week, so they are bone dry.

I was more worried about them breaking if I tried to put them all in a container together.....do you think they'd be more likely to break on the cake?

Just be sure to have extras just in case some fall off! But they will do fine on the cake in the fridge.

I put a piece of foam in a cake box and transport my flowers that way.

Thanks!

I went ahead and transported them in an 18 inch square cake pan lined with tea towels. They survived!

This may be a bit late, but I store my gumpaste flowers in a plastic box with lots of fiberfill to cushion them.
