Hello, I have several cakes coming up next month and I need to put stars and number toppers etc on my cakes. I usually use chocolate as glue but last cake i did, the figure become unglued in transit from the sun light hitting it or heat I assume. What should I use in summer time for adding number toppers and stars and flowers and figures to my cake in stead of chocolate? Royal icing? someone said that melts in heat too. I dont want my numbers to come off the sticks, please help.

What is best, royal icing, chocolate or ? in summer months

I use either water, gum glue (mix of water and gum paste) or clear piping gel. I would definitely stay away from chocolate as glue in the summer months.

I guess it is going to depend what you are gluing...If you are gluing accents to the side of your cake I wouldn't use royal because it takes so long to dry.

Maybe try some tylose glue. I've never used it in the summer because I just found out about it myself but I've heard it'll glue anything.

I will be attempting to put a fondant ribbon around an un-iced giant cupcake. Any suggestions of what I can use to make it adhere??? Will regular buttercream on back of
ribbon make it stick? What about piping gel? Seems to me the piping gel won't work but
I think I saw, somewhere, this was a suggestion to another person's project. Suggestions????[/b]
