For all of you other home bakers, I'm just curious how you have organized and stored all of your cake stuff. I wish I had a basement (I'd set up a whole extra kitchen! Oh, dreams....) but I don't so I just have a regular sized home kitchen. Right now, I have a big shelving unit and all my cake stuff is stored there inside plastic drawers or those big storage tubs with lids. And when I need extra decorating space, I have a folding table that lives in the closet.

This seems to be working for me, at least for the most part, so I may not need to change anything but I wonder what else is out there...

I took over one of the closets in the hallway outside the kitchen, put in floor to ceiling shelving on three walls. I also had an extra folding table.

My best discovery is that those plastic pockets that are meant to hold file folders will hold parchment circles and cardboard rounds. I attached those all up and down the inside of the closet door. I have 6" to 16" (legal size pockets) cardboards on that door.

I have 2 of the big white storage closets from Lowe's. All my pans, cake boards & circles, cookbooks, ribbons, dusts, tips, etc., have their own tote and sit on the shelves. Then I have a folding 6' table for decorating, as well as the kitchen table and counters. What I'd really like to have is one room where I can leave everything out where it's handy and easy to find. Maybe some day . . .

I bought a storage case from Big Lots for 125.00. It's great! I need another now! icon_biggrin.gif

I have floor to ceiling shelving around all the walls in my office/junk room. It's supposed to be the office but it's my dumping ground.

I use the closet under the stairs to house all my goodies. It is just a few steps from the kitchen so it works well for me. My husband built me shelving, and just like Leah, I use office storage supplies for my stuff. I have all kinds of shelves, containers, and so on attached to the walls and door.

I got one of my daughters married and took over her bedroom! icon_smile.gif I have metal shelving units all around the room and this is where I store all of my tools, pans, boards, etc. and where I work on my sugar art and leave it to dry. As for ingredients, those are stored in two of my kitchen cabinets and in boxes underneath a dummy cake display table in the corner of my dining room.
