I am making a round 3D sports ball cake and it says to use a thicker cake recipe. The chocolate cake recipe I use it pretty light and fluffy. Does anyone have a denser cake recipe they could suggest that would work for the sports cake?

I have made a chocolate WASC in the sports ball pan and it came out fine. It's pretty dense.
