I am going to be doing the attached cake for this Saturday for a Bridal Shower. My questions are: What tip do I use to get the design on this cake and if I need to feed 35 people, should I bake a 10 or 12 inch cake? Also I'm thinking of doing a 3 layer cake in order to get height, any thoughts on that?

Thanks!

You can find the tutorial for this at http://cakesbyteresa.blogspot.com/2011/02/vertical-ruffle-cake.html. I believe the 10" cake serves 38 if you use the Wilton wedding servings. I've done lots of three layer cakes. If you're traveling with the cake, I would suggest adding in 3 - 4 bubble tea straws for support just in case. All but one of mine have been fine, but that one was a big lesson learned about support. I will also say I've done the messy ruffle design and I suggest giving yourself plenty of time to decorate. It took me longer than I thought it would and I wasn't trying to keep the rows straight. Good luck!
