I recently started using the Cake Boss software. Do you enter every customer's name & info? or do you use a general "customer", then add their details in the notes? I'm just wondering how big the account database would be for every cake order that might be a one time thing. Thanks for any input!!

I add every customer in. I might not have an address and all that for every person...sometimes just a phone or email, but they get their own entry with their name and whatever I have.

Agree. I add in every customer and fill in whatever info I have on them. You would be suprised how many "one time" orders turn into regular customers. I like knowing who is ordering, what they ordered... I use that information to help my marketing the business.
For example, say Mary buys an anniversary cake for her and her husband this year. You now know when Mary's anniversary is and can use this to bring her back by sending some sort of card, email, discount offer...

I don't understand why you would want to enter a generic 'customer', and then put everything in the notes. Could you clarify? Wouldn't you be entering it all anyway? Why not just put it in the right boxes?
I often need to go back and add notes or payments later, and I have no idea how I would ever find the order, if I couldn't look for it by name.
