Possibly too much or no salt. What would you do?

Ugh! I feel like an idiot. I was mixing all the dry ingredients for the WASC cake when I was distracted by a phone call. Now I have no idea if I already added the salt. I can't start all over because I only have one extra box of white cake mix. The recipe calls for 1 1/2 tsp salt, so I don't want to add it if its already in there. 3 tsp would just be too much. What would you do?

dont add it. just go without it and the cake will be fine

Taste the batter once you mix it all together. You'll be able to tell then if it needs salt or not.

Then plug me back in.  See if that works!

I'd go without it.

I added too much salt once--just 50% more--and it was awful. I actually made up another half batch, without salt, and added it to the mix to even it out. I then froze the leftover batter. Worked fine.
