Iron man cake---SCREAMING!

Just a vent----My godson wants an iron man cake for his birthday. I don't sell anything I just do it for fun, but I practice following all the rules so I can be in good practice if I want to get in the business one-day. Of course Iron Man is a licensed character that doesn't have a logo you can adapt to be legal. he doesn't have an object associated with him, just two main colors red and yellow. I can't think of a darn thing to do for an iron man cake that wouldn't violate IP laws besides plop a iron man toy on a cake. Can i get spiderman, batman, or superman--this comic book character really falls short on identifying characteristics so how can he be a superhero. I'm usually very creative and can work around IP but iron man gives me no help!

Oh yeah, I have a terrible sense of humor and this post was meant to be funny so laugh now!

I had the same dilemma when I was asked to do an ironman cake. I was so bummed to even be asked. I like making cute, pretty cakes icon_smile.gif

Oops sorry. Maybe you could get a Wilton pan?? Or call marvel and ask. The worst they could say is no an. You're already prepared for that!

Actually Iron Man does have a logo of sorts. The thing in his chest that keeps him alive.

You could also try the movie logo.

A number of different images come up when you google Iron Man Logo which may be useful.

And if you google Iron Man Cakes and go into the images link, there are lots that might help.

You could make his helmet perhaps?

The vast majority of Iron Man cakes posted online are copyright violations (if permission was not granted) unless they used decopacs or figurines.

debbief posted a great example of how to make a non-infringing cake using a toy as a topper.

Yes, any original artwork automatically falls under copyright, including characters and logos.

Yeah! that gives me more ideas pmarks0. The chest thing is cool and I can do his name in the same type of font and colors. I guess I really don't know this ironman character. You guys are my superheros!
