Thank you for your phone call yesterday. Again, I am saddened to hear that you were upset by the size of the groom's cake. I did go over all of our emails to make certain that their was no misunderstanding on my part. We did discuss doing a cake to serve 100 guests. As you can see by the Wilton serving chart (which is industry standard), a 6, 9 and 12 serves 100 guests. I did speak with your brother prior to the wedding and offered a cake stand for rental if you were interested in having it elevated.
WEDDING CHART HERE
As discussed prior to your wedding, scale plays a major role in sculpted cakes, since in most cases, the size of cake that a client envisions usually serves far more people than they need to feed, thus making pricing by the serving irrelevant.
I do understand how it can be hard to envision how large a 30-40 serving CARVED cake may be when completed \\, but I am happy to know that you had more than enough cake to serve your guests. I would much rather my clients have more, than less.
Again, I wish you and XXX a very happy married life and I look forward to seeing you at your one year anniversary for your fresh tier.
I have sent the tasting fee back to you and it should be there in a few short days.
Have a wonderful honeymoon!
