Measurement Conversion: 1 pound choc chips is how many cups?

Hi,

I'm making a choc buttercream today that calls for: 1 pound (454 g/16 oz) good-quality semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled

Does anyone know roughly how many cups this would be as my scales are broken and I only have cups!

Equal to 2 2/3 cups HTH

That will really depend on how the chocolate is formed........chips, cubes, paillettes, buttons, shavings, etc., since cups measure volume, not weight.
There will be different amounts of "dead space" in the cup with each different shape, so some would be more densely packed--and heavier- than others.

1 pound of regular Nestle's chocolate chips is 3 cups. 1 pound of mini nestle's chips is 2 2/3 cups. I pound of Callebaut buttons is just a little over 3 cups. HTH

Well, no.

One cup of melted chocolate weighs 10 ounces, so 2 cups would weigh 20 ounces--well over a pound.
