Hi Everyone,

I want to make my daughter a Cinderella coach cake for her birthday. Just wanted to ask if anyone has made a ball or sphere cake before. I am looking for any info or tips or even the whole process to help me out with this. My son and daughter are only 3 days apart so I usually make two cakes so I don't need it to be a huge cake if that helps with keeping the structure together. Any info is very apprectiated. Thanks so much. icon_smile.gif

There is a sphere cake pan you can purchase. I think it's about 6" in diameter. I have used a small metal mixing bowl before which was about 6". Bake, trim the tops flat and put the 2 sides together.

truthfully , I would make a cake and cover a smaller styrofoam ball and make the coach to put on top of the cake. I find covering an actuall ball of cake quite difficult. Although it is a little easier with the styro.
