A friend of mine wants a two tier cake that sits on tip of a Martini cake stand. I googled it to see who carries the stand and all I could find is DIY info on using hot glue to stick the martini glass to a glass plate. Does anyone know if a martini glass could hold a two tier cake? It would either be a 8in and 6in or 10in and 8in.

Any help would be great.

I'm sure it would tip over in an instant, even supposing it would be strong enough to withstand the weight of a cake this size - cakes are pretty heavy, as I'm sure I don't have to tell you. How about a ring of martini glasses around a flat base? And another suggestion - don't put your base together with not glue. I tried that once for a cupcake stand, and it fell apart as soon as I started putting cupcakes on it. I'd try something like superglue (which is nice and transparent) or contact cement (which unfortunately isn't). Best of luck with this, though. I'd love to see your stand when it's finished.

I don't have one myself, but I've seen oversized martini glasses at Hobby Lobby. They would hold a 2-tier cake without any problem, if the look would work for you.
