please recommend edible ink marker brand

I am looking to do a graduation cake, part of the design is going to have an open yearbook covered in fondant for people to "sign" using edible markers. I saw this on "Covered with Frosting"'s site (I think) and waiting for her to respond. her picture looked like it worked great. However, questions...what type of brand markers. Mine that i used before were cheap and i don't think they worked great, anyone have any brand to recommend? Also, should i place something under the fondant so people don't press too hard and go thru the fondant and into the cake? I'm thinking a very thin cake box or something...? Ideas? Thanks!!

I use wilton's edible markers. I have written on multiple cakes with them. Here is a link to them.

I use the Americolor markers although I'm not in love with then. I'd definitely use ganache under the fondant!

The AmeriColor Gourmet Writers are by far the best I've found. What don't you like about them, ajwonka?

I have to second this. I have both the Wilton and Americolor. By far the Americolor wins hands down. I dislike how large the tip of the Wilton markers are, which is only good if you are covering a large area. I love the fine tip of the Americolors cause you can do small detail work.

Is there a difference between americolor gourmet writers vs food writers? The lady from the site I got the idea from replied and mentioned giving the fondant time to harden up to make it easier to write on so I'll do that. Going to send this idea to the client today and see if it's a go. Thanks!!
