So I've been entertaining the idea of surprising hubby with a cake of his beloved ML350 for his birthday next week. But I'm not even sure how I can get the shape of the cake to look like the car? Basically I have no clue how I can make the cake icon_redface.gif So ANY advice would be greatly appreciated!

Here is how his car looks: http://autotrendyz.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/mercedes-benz-ml-350-cdi.jpg

Go to this link that I posted below, she gives you step by step how to do a car cake, she used Mike McCarey's video, "Cakeology" to do this cake. make sure you read the step by step instructions under each picture. It's very funny as well!! icon_smile.gif

Also, if you google, "how to make a car cake", you will get lots of stuff that comes up.

Thanks so much for the link! Very helpful! So I plan on printing out the side of the car in landscape paper format....so what size should I bake the cake? Also rectangle or round? I have a round one, and saw something about adding parchment paper for height...And how many cakes should I bake to achieve the height? Thanks!

I used (3) 11x15 cakes (stacked). It really depends on how big you are wanting the cake.

I did one cake where it had to feed 100 people, so, I had to do several 11x15 cakes.
