I've recently purchased these pillars http://www.designacrylics.co.uk/chunky-32mm-tube-clear-acrylic-fillable-wedding-cake-pillars---set-of-4-217-p.asp for my first wedding cake order in June, and they look perfect for what I'm going to do.
However, I'm really struggling to find separator plates in the UK, and even if I could I don't know which plates will fit these pillars.
Ideally, I'd like clear plates as there won't be any flowers or anything covering them, but as it's a white cake I can settle for white.

Can anybody advise me on which plates I need, and where I can purchase them from?

Many websites have the pillars, but none have the plates..this leads me to wonder; do I need the plates at all?

If you look more on that same web site you will see the clear plates under the acrylic wedding display and then clear cake boards/plates. These do not have the locking things. They are just flat acrylic plates.
