I have never made cake pops and am going to do them for my nephew. I would like to make them look like a tennis ball. Do you always have to cover them with melted chocolate or can you just use icing? If I need to cover with choc to hold them together can I use buttercream over it? I thought I would try the star tip so it wasn't smooth.
Any help would be great
Thanks
I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use buttercream instead of candy melts, but it would be a lot more time consuming having to coat each and every tiny pop, especially as it's not a flat surface! With candy melts, you just dip and its all coated in one go.
just use neon green or yellow candy melts, then pipe the white lines with RI, that's what I would do, anyways!
