I have an idea for an unusual cake (for me, anyway) and I am blank on a good color and type of flower to go with a very pale mauve colored cake with darker mauve "sequins".

I think white will be too stark and not creative enough. I will appreciate any ideas for appropriate colors and flower combination.

Thanks,

Michele

By the way, I'm considering gelatin flowers also.

The whole project will be a series of experiments. Everything has to either be hand rolled or put through a pasta machine.

Thanks again,

Michele

I like pink with mauve, any kind of flower. Pink and mauve are close on the color wheel. For more drama, pick light green, which is opposite on the color wheel.

I would say green also. Purple and teal is a good combination, so I would think different shades would go together as well (as in mauve and light green or turquoise).

I like green, too. Lots of flowers have a greenish hue, from roses to hydrangeas to orchids and more. Stylized orchids might be edgy enough to balance mauve sequins.....
